What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
New customers will have to fill out client intake sheets to get their health history and if they are allergic to massage creams.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended the Touch Therapy Institute in 2002 and graduated in 2004 with my license. Over the years, I have the knowledge and practice of Swedish Massages, Deep Tissue, Pregnancy, Hot Stone Therapy, Chair Massages, and Therapeutic Stretches.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Years ago, when I was in high school, I used to work with children with disabilities. There was one young boy who had Fibromyalgia and Lupus and would have constant discomfort and pain. My hands would never get tired when doing a massage, so I would massage him an hour day. Within my senior year he started to walk. This inspired me to research in becoming a massage therapist.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of customers. Athletes, MMA fighters, women, men, children, elderly patients, and people with disabilities.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
There are several projects of which I am very fond! I've done massages for a skydiving event - this was such a great experience. I've also traveled to Las Vegas to massage MMA fighters and have offered my massage services to various medical centers for Nurses Appreciation Week. Such great experiences!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My advice would be to look up the individuals experience and knowledge before you schedule with them. Read their reviews online from other customers.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
If the customer is wanting to get a massage. They would need to communicate their prior injuries and where their points of tension and stress are to the massage therapist
